About

Founded by Emie Roy, ‘The Stories Untold’ is a platform to bring light on several important recounts, that would otherwise have gone unnoticed, by creating socially and culturally relevant audio, visual and print stories to help spread the message of inclusion and diversity.

People stories inspire, and there is a story in everyone. And while some stories can be brought to light by an individual, some take a village to tell those. We collaborate and work with many like-minded individuals and organisations to tell these stories. We have the reader/ listener/audience in mind when we tell our stories, and the biggest satisfaction is when our stories connect with them.

We take great pride in the stories we tell. It is our motto to take these stories to the next level by weaving relevant conversations around those, which serves as a rostrum to bring traction on important topics.

About the founder:

Emie Roy

What moulded Emie is her simple and delightful childhood. Always encouraged to stay ‘different’ as a child, she didn’t realise that it was a huge privilege until she grew up and realised how swimming with the tide is the norm.

She is a writer, speaker, documentary film maker, and above all, a passionate storyteller. She has been writing and telling stories for the best of a decade in the form of speeches, articles, essays, life writing (on people, places and things), storyboards and scripts. She also uses her storytelling skills to facilitate soft-skills workshops which audience can easily connect with.

Emie is a member of the Women’s Advisory committee at Blacktown City Council, and also a founder member of ‘Champions of Change’, initiated by Community Migrant Resource Centre (CMRC). She is also a member of the advisory for Blacktown +10, facilitated by the Committee for Sydney. Generous with her time and commitment to serve in the advisory bodies, she never shies away from an opportunity to help her community.

Awards:

Her documentary series, ‘Unlocked’, speaks about how the isolation during pandemic times impacted the lives of a few people in Western Sydney.
